We believe that the potential in converting paper based signing to digital services is huge. For a number of reasons this movement has been rather slow, though. The legislation in many countries is in line with the potential, that is, chryptological digital signature is as valid as a paper based one.

The Cybercom e-Signing Service have the potential to boost digital signatures. Why?

Solid Cryptography

The Cybercom Digital Signing Service is based on a PKI, with secure structure, processes and technology such as a CA and HSM:s in place. This means that there is never any doubt in connecting a user to a signature. Thus, the signature can always be fully trusted.

Document Based signatures

Many digital signatures are just a receipt, that something has been signed. This is not good enough for broad usage. That’s why the Cybercom Digital Signing Service is tied to a document, a non-editable PDF A, making it possible to store and distribute the signed document. For some use cases, the signed document should be integrated in IT-based processes, where a signed XML-document is suitable.

Open security token Solution

Historically, a digital signature was only possible if the user held a certificate, like a smartcard, a certificate based Mobile eID or a software eID.

Since the Cybercom Digital Signing Service is a backend solution on the internet, connected to a unified login platform based on IdentityHub or a customer supplied solution (like a IDP), signing can be done with many different security tokens.  The potential usage can, thus, be much broader
