Situation

A requirement was presented to Cybercom by a Mobile operator group in East Africa (2 Networks, both 2G/3G)

Challenge

  • Difficulties to manage planning and roll out due to lack of resources, sub-optimally functioning organizations and logistical challenges.
  • Roll out performance degraded to a level that Operator risks falling a long way behind its competitors in service and quality

Reasons

  • Lack of relevant resources in technical and managerial aspects related to roll out
  • Absence of functioning processes and procedures for planning, roll out and quality control

Requirement & wanted solution

  • Network Quality to be improved to rival and exceed competitors networks
  • Roll out of network to be massively increased so as to match and exceed competitors networks

  • Cybercom assumed turnkey responsibility of planning, roll out and network quality
  • Large onsite teams were assembled with very short mobilization time
  • In a short time the network was radically improved in both coverage and quality, meeting and exceeding competitors networks
  • Fully transparent processes were implemented across all planning and roll out functions
  • Once yearly network master plan is produced to implement business objectives for the year
