Consumers are becoming more accustomed to everyday products being connected. This familiarity means their demands of what smart products should do is quickly growing beyond satisfaction with mere novelties. A user base with liquid expectations seeping over from unrelated and more technologically advanced market categories want features that power real utility.

Impressions from MWC 2017
This year I had the opportunity to attend to the world´s largest exhibition within telecommunications Mobile World Congress or MWC.
I think that Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality is a really exciting area where we will see many new areas of usage from military to medical and pure amusement. So what was the highlights from this year? Below I have separated VR and AR since they differ a lot in speed of progress and areas of usage.

Mobile world congress is one of my favorite events of the year and following it from year to year you notice the underlying change and the most apparent trends each year are often not the once giving the biggest impact to companies when developing their business and product strategies right now.
When it comes to the secretes I often try to find trends which will give an impact to my clients. This year we formulated three areas which I will illustrate below:
Artificial intelligence & machine learning for everybody
Augmented Reality coming alive
Robotics (and drones) everywhere

In my professional life the MWC trade fair, this year in Barcelona, is the industry highlight. In this industry the majority of us have, with jealous feelings, read and seen information published by this fair, and we have tried to understand and feel the pulse of what will happen in the market.

I think that the book "Design a better business" does a wonderful job of summarize the popular methods like Design thinking, Lean startup, Business model generation, customer development and so on. But it also gives hands on examples from the real world and present the best visual tools from each discipline in a good format which is easy to grasp.
